Chalkboard Paint and Teachers

I think chalkboard paint is so fun.  I just wish we had smooth walls to incorporate it into our playroom somehow, but we don't.  So I'll have to live with some other ideas.  I am trying to come up with an idea for a teacher appreciation gift using chalkboard paint.  I am a teacher, but for the first time have preschool teachers to appreciate.  They do a great job and I want to come up with a fun idea.  Here are some fun ideas I have run across so far:

Great idea for a beach party/wedding:

Photobooth prop:

I love this idea using old globes.  I have a couple of these in my classroom.

These are great, I have actually made these and my son loves them.

I am leaning towards doing something with pots.  I love this idea:

And this is just fun:

Well, I will continue to ponder ideas and let you know what I decide.  What brilliant ideas have you come across?

Chick Cake Pops

This past week I attempted for the second time, cake pops.  The first time, I just dipped them balls into the candy melt.  This time I attempted the stick thing and actually found it to be easier, just more time comsuming.  Here it what I attempted to make from Bakerella's Cake Pops book:

Here are mine actually turned out.  I had a herd time making them round, so there not quite as cute but I like them.

These will be fun to give out as little gifts and oh boy are they so yummy!

I just ordered some for our carnival party we will be having in June.  I am excited to play with them.  I have never used one of those helium tanks you can buy, so I don't know if I should buy one of those or bring them to a party store to blow up.  I'll have to check into prices.  I ordered my balloons from Bake it Pretty.  They have a great selection, and even some polka-dot ones.

The Carnival is Coming...

That is it will be to our household early June.  But before I talk about that I need to apologize for be so sporadic in my blogging.  I really want to be a good, consistent blogger.  How do peopel do it while working a full-time job and running a family?  I need to schedule it into my days.  The good news in I only have 36 days (teaching days) left of school, and then I will have loads of time (ha ha).  So to celebrate summer, I have decided to have a summer carnival for my son's preschool friends.  There are so many inspiring ideas out there, I thought I would spend a few days highlighting some ideas that I really like.  I just bought some tins similar to the ones in this pitcure (Target dollar spot is great).

I love these cupcakes and have seen many of them on the web.

I will continue to post more ideas.  I know this is a small snippet of what is out there, but I've got to get ready for my little first graders.
