Willy Wonka Party

Happy Monday!  The sun is FINALLY out here and it was great.  I am definately a sun girl.  I live in california and we have had our fair share of rain this year.

Well, let's talk parties.  I have been wanting to put on a Candyland party for quite a while and have collected some fun ideas.  But I came across this Willy Wonka party and WOW, it looks like it was fun.
This party is from TSJ Photography.  Tracie has some great photography ideas and creative ideas for kids.  You'll have to check out the rest of the party, it looked delicious!

Peeps S'mores

Sorry I have been MIA for a few days.  It was my spring break and I took advantage of my time home with my son and worked on cleaning through closets (remember my word this year is simplify).

I just loves s'mores.  Maybe it's because I love to camp and the two go hand in hand.  Have you ever tried making s'mores with a peanut butter cup instead of a plain ole' chunk of chocolate...yummy!  Well, I came across these today and thought they would be a fun treat to make.

Pirate Invites

As promised here are my invites we made for the pirate party.  We had to hand deliver them, but that was part of the fun.  To see the expressions on the kids' faces when my little Captain delivered their message in a bottle was priceless!

Pirate Party

I thought I would post pictures of my son's 3rd birthday from 6 months ago.  Planning this is what got me interested in the party planning gig.  I am wishing now I would have hired a photographer to have cathed the moments a bit more.  I was busy being a host and a mommy, so I don't have the best pictures.  Here is some of the decor.
And what's a pirate party without a pirate ship (made from a refridgerator box).
Oh...I can't forget the carpenter workshop to decorate your treasure chest before digging for gold and jewels.

He had a blast and so did the moms and dads.  He turns four in six months...time to start planning!

30 days of lists

Okay...I know I am trying to simplify, BUT how cool is this idea.  30 days of lists.  I have to admit, I love lists!  I make them on a daily basis.  In fact, I use the daily docket and love it.  Well, when I came across this idea I had to jump on board.  I am starting a little late(it seems this challenge began on March 1st), but it is easy to jump on board any time.  Here is the blog about it:

30 Days of Lists

List #1 is A Few Things About Myself...so I thought I would share
  • a wife and mommy
  • list maker
  • traveler
  • crafter/scrapbooker
  • wanna be photgrapher
  • teacher
  • party planner
  • beer snob
  • outdoorsy gal
  • multi-tasker (I am a female)
  • lucky
Now I just need to find a journal to keep all of my lists in!

Rainbow Cookies

How are you this evening?  Things are good here, we had a lot of lounging/play time around the house...which I love.  Tonight I stumbled across the coolest rainbow playdough cookies.

Don't these look fun?  I may have to try these out next week when I am on spring break.

Happy Read Across America Day!

Today is Read Across America Day.  This day in classrooms is often a day that we celebrate Dr. Seuss (it's his birthday) and of course the fun of reading.  I thought today I would share my top ten Dr. Seuss quotes.  So here you go:

1. "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not."
2. "You're off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So... get on your way!"
3. "How did it get so late so soon?"
4."Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one."
5."You’ll miss the best things if you keep your eyes shut."
6. "Christmas doesn't come from a store, maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more...."
7. "Oh, the thinks you can think!"
8. "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."
9. "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
10."Think and wonder, wonder and think."

There you have it!  Read to your child today, they will grow up so fast and try some green eggs and ham, you may like them...Sam did.

More Rainbow Fun

I thought I would share some more rainbow fun with you.  Rainbows are so fun this time of year.  You can tie it into St. Patrick's Day, and art party, or a spring party.  I love this craft idea using colored pasta wheels:

How about some delicious rainbow french toast?

I love these cakes

So many fun ideas.  I will continue to search and post more when I can.  I only wish we were going to be around to do a little St. Patrick's day playdate, maybe next year!
