Superhero Party

Wow!  It has been a while, but I have a fun party to share from this past weekend.  My son is into superheroes...big time!  So of course we had a superhero party.  My mom had made capes and masks out of felt and that was a huge hit with the heroes in training.

When the kids first arrived, they either played with my son's superhero toys, punch balloons, or made a superhero craft. The craft was dress a superhero.  The parts were cut from the Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge.  All of the smaller pieces were run through my sticker machine (this was easier than using a glue stick for little hands).  They seemed to really enjoyed this.  It also enabled us to wait for everyone to arrive.

After the superhero craft, we headed outside for superhero training.  The training consisted of an obstacle course and clearing the yard of all of the kryptonite (rocks spray painted bright green).  What a blast that was!  There was a lot of kryptonite and they took initiative to find it all.  After finding all of the dangerous kryptonite, they were ready for some swimming.

Lunch consisted of hot dogs, fruit, veggies and cupcakes.  I also had sandwich stuff for the adults.

The cupcakes were kryptonite cupcakes.  The inside was red, yellow and blue cupcake (per my son's request) with white frosting.  They were topped with green rock candy or I mean kryptonite.  We also had some cake pops around for the moms.

Here are some more decoration pictures from the party.

I have to thank Pinterest for oodles of ideas.  I just love that site.  The circle food printables came from One Charming Party.  The Someday I'll Be a Superhero came from this cute Etsy shop.  All of the other printables I designed.

15 Days...

That is home many school days I have left until summer.  It is bittersweet because I have a great class, but I LOVE MY SUMMERS!  I made up another summer bucket list.  I added more this year, because many of the items are simple.  My son had so much fun checking things off the list.  So this year I made poster of 100 fun things to do this summer.  I had it printed as a 16 X 20 print at Costco.  I am ready to hang it up and get started.

I made one of similar last year and completed most of it.  Here is the inspiration for this year's poster.

Leprechaun prep

Today while my son and husband were out playing t-ball.  I pulled out my supply of green to begin preparations for a visit from a tiny fellow.  There are so many fun ideas out there, especially with the help of Pinterest.  Our little fellow usually messes up the house and leaves his green mark in many ways. He also sends my son on a scavenger hunt for gold and shamrocks.  I have found a cute treasure hunt here, that I am going to try this year.

I was also inspired by this St. Patty's Day breakfast from My Sister's Suitcase.  You can read about it here.

This breakfast has so many fun things and free printables to go along with the breakfast.  What a treat!  What are your plans for St. Patty's Day?

The Lorax

I am so excited for the Lorax to come out in theaters this Friday. The books is great!  I read it to my class and son quite often.  I originally planned to have a Lorax pre-party before going to the movie this Friday, but my son has his first t-ball practice so I am going to hold out.  I have found some great ideas on Google and Pinterest, so I though I would share some of my favorites.

Valentine...I have my eye on you!

So while pinning one evening, I found this cute valentine:
I loved it, but did not have a Cricut cartridge with a monster.  I also knew that my 4 year old could not cut something like that out, so I designed a monster valentine for my preschooler to color in.

You can probably guess which one my four year old made.  I made a sample to show him what it could look like with googly eyes glued on.  He has loved coloring them in and they are all different.  On the inside he writes his name and is so proud of them.  I've always loved homemade Valentine's more than store bought ones.  Of course we will be attaching some sort of yummy to each one before he hands them out to his preschool buddies.

I thought I would share, so here is a copy.  They print two to a page.

I hope you enjoy it!  Let me know how they turn out for you.
